Public computer recycling is free... forever

But some things require a little more labor, space, transportation, or third-party processing. That's why we ask that you consider leaving a tip.*

Is it required? Nope. But it is certainly appreciated. With fuel, housing, and food prices climbing every day we understand that everyone may not be in a position to tip right now. That's okay. There's no obligation.

Batteries and other exceptions

Batteries require extra care due to fire risk, regulatory requirements, and the need for proper downstream recycling. A small fee helps cover safe handling, upstream recycling costs, and compliant disposal.

Battery leads should be taped with clear packing tape in advance to reduce the risk of accidental fire. If not taped, a 50¢ per-battery charge may apply. (Or just ask us to borrow some tape.)
